ARTIST STATEMENT

Mobius Strip | Lara Pollard & Kieran Fisher

In Mobius Strip a negotiation is taking place — one of reckoning with two selves that seem to be at odds with one another, punctuated with vignettes of Canadian and Australian scenery. There is a special connection struck between the natural world we live in and what that means to our idea of 'home'. By the end, the speaker has begun to reconcile the many parts of herself, discovering a dynamic, symbiotic relationship to all parts of her identity and the landscapes that she calls home, exiling the forces which tell her, “there can only be one.”
