Animation: Where Movement Meets Sound!

  • Fremantle Library 151 High Street Fremantle, WA, 6160 Australia (map)

Explore the interplay between movement and sound. Led by artist Julie Ziegenhardt, this experimental animation workshop demonstrates the magic behind 2D animation in an abstract and unconventional way.

Intuitively blend sounds, prompts, and guides using a variety of materials. Julie will guide you through crafting animations step by step, breaking down the process into playful, bite-sized chunks.

No prior animation experience needed! Whether you’re a seasoned artist or a curious beginner, this workshop invites you to express your creativity whimsically or wildly. So come on down Tuesday, April 9, 10am – 12pm at Fremantle Library.

About Julie Ziegenhardt:

Julie Ziegenhardt is a multi-media artist researching the in-betweenness of things- where they collide, and how they mix. She navigates her life between Cape Town, where she grew up, and Perth, where she lives and works. The interplay of these environmental multiplicities resonates significantly in her work, which seeks to question similar intersections, looking to animation and play as a primary manner of inquiry. Collaboration with artists and researchers from other disciplines is instrumental to this process, which weaves aspects of analogue and digital spaces and reverberates as something different every time. The ambiguous and inter-connected narratives that emerge are an investigation into modes of being, an attempt by the artist to offer thought about how our existences shift through the evolving nuances of contemporary life.

The event is wheelchair accessible, welcoming to companion card holders and support persons, and support animal friendly. More Access Info
